Giữa đất và nước is being between earth and sea. In Vietnamese "đất" means earth and nước means "water". "Dất nước" means "country" and refers to Vietnam in spoken language as land and water blend together in most part of the country. As a Viet Kieu, being an "in-between" is part of my identity. Not totally Vietnamese, not totally French.
